225th Anniversary Celebration of the Great Revival of 1800
October 10-12, 2025
“In Remembrance Of Me” – Luke 22:19

EVENT INFORMATION AND RULES

We welcome you to join us at the Red River Meeting House near Schochoh, Kentucky to celebrate the Great Revival of 1800. While the Lord “graciously visited” churches led by Rev. James McGready in the late 1790’s, and saved many souls, these miracles were “like a few drops before a mighty rain” when compared with what began in 1800, to quote McGready. The revival soon spread through numerous churches and communities in Kentucky, Tennessee, and throughout the nation.

  • Appropriate late 18th century dress is strongly recommended but not required. While this is not a juried event, we do ask that clothing and other items be as historically accurate as possible. If you would like assistance in acquiring primitive dress, or if you have questions concerning clothing or accoutrements, please contact us as we are more than happy to be of assistance.
  • For those wishing to camp with modern accoutrements or in an RV, we do have an area set aside, but please note that no electrical, sewer or water hookups are available.
  • This event will be open to the public for Friday evening 7:00 service and Sunday morning 10:00 service. Gates will open on Saturday morning from 9:00 until the end of the 7:00 pm service. On Saturday there will be living history demonstrations throughout the day and 6 scheduled presentations. Food truck will be available on Saturday only. All hours are Central Daylight Savings Time.
  • Set up is Friday and tear down is Sunday morning after service. If you need to arrive or depart outside of those times that is not a problem, just let us know. But please, no set ups or tear downs during public hours except for emergencies.
  • There are no entry or camping fees. However, we greatly appreciate donations to help us maintain the grounds and continue our events.
  • Firewood and water is available on site.
  • A bucket of water is required to be near any and all fires at all times.
  • This is a family event. No alcohol and no profanity will be tolerated.
  • For safety reasons, there will be no pets allowed. Certified service animals only.
